Leaning Tower
The following exercises are ones that I learned from Bill Knowles of ISport. Bill is located at the Vermont Orthopedic Clinic in Killington, Vermont. Bill introduced me to the exercises to reprogram the firing pattern of the glute, quad and hamstring in both healthy athletes and those who are rehabbing as well. I have found success using these exercises with an athlete who had a patella fracture. IT MUST BE NOTED...... The Volume of the exercise is in the 5-7rep range and performed for 3 sets. The low volume of repetitions emphasizes the fact that quality and execution is critical for this movement to work. DO NOT perform the movement "unconsciously!" Be detailed and focused on contracting the correct musculature and you will improve the function and strength of the lower body in a very athletic position.
