TRX Training on the Road
The TRX training system is an extremely versatile tool that can be incorporated into any team strength program. Not only is it an integral part of our everyday workouts at home (strength, mobility, flexibility, stability), but it is a vital tool for maintaining our workout schedule on the road. Here are a few of our favorite exercises that we include in a road workout.
All of these exercises are performed after a session of soft-tissue work with sticks and foam rollers, a brief stretch circuit, and some mobility/activation drills.
- One-Leg Squat Jumps
- RFE Squat (bodyweight or with load)
- Supine row (increase difficulty by elevating feet)
- One-Arm Rotational Row
- One-Foot Push-Ups (foot in, or foot on floor)
- “Roll-Out”
These can be performed as a circuit, or in pairs, depending on the training response we desire (endurance, power, conditioning). This is by no means a comprehensive workout. It is simply one way we keep our guys strong and healthy during a long hockey season.
