The Shopping Cart Theory: Putting Weights Away

David Rosales - June 09, 2020

Okay, so, in the last few weeks this whole idea that whether or not somebody puts their shopping cart back where they found it is a good judgment of overall morality has been blowing up.

You may agree. You may disagree.

Does this cart look like it&##x27;s in the middle of an introspective deep internal search or is it just me&##x3f;
Does this cart look like it's in the middle of an introspective deep internal search or is it just me?

Personally, I think if you don't put your shopping cart back, you're kinda an asshole. But putting it back doesn't make you a good person.

To me, it's a lot like putting your weights away. In most gyms, you can find the pricks based one who has other people put their weights away for them. But, I still know plenty of assholes who do put their weights away. In most gyms putting weights back is just commonplace, especially gyms with good cultures.

I think it's only a prerequisite.

Same thing with picking up pucks. The best leaders I've ever played with, no matter where they were on the rookie-veteran totem pole, picked up pucks. The worst captains I've had, all thought they were too good for it.

But maybe that's just me.
