Toronto Maple Leafs Training Camp, 1962

In January of 2010, a letter surfaced that was addressed to Jim Pappin from Punch Imlach.

It was an invitation to training camp that listed golf as a training must, and also explained what kind of shape the players should be in when they return to camp. The players needed to be able to do 20 push ups, 20 sit ups, and 30 knee bends, and must not be over 7 pounds of their playing weight. This letter was talked about on blogs, including the Toronto Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star. The letter was originally put into circulation by Jim's brother, Garry Pappin, when he scanned it and sent a copy to a friend of his in Whitby, Ontario.
