This video shows a great method for progressing the 1 leg squat....
Anthony joins Brian Sipotz at his facility, Advantage Strength and Conditioning, in Ann Arbor MI. Check out the tour and the chat about business, branding, etc....
This is an SLDL Row variation that I really like because it also presents the athlete with a big anti-rotational load....
Develop a burst of horizontal power in a pulling pattern by using the Drive Sled...
I used this leg curl variation to add a contra lateral component to the exercise....
This One-Leg SLDL variation is great for anyone with balance issues because the bar pushes them into hip IR and offers some stability through the movement....
The 1/2 Kneeling Shoulder Controlled Articulation is a mobility drill inspired by the Functional Range Conditioning program. This mobility exercise is designed to have the shoulder complex move through and control rotational movement, while developing dynamic strength at end range. The goal of this exercise is to remain as square as possible while rotating through a full range of sagital plane motion about the shoulder. The athlete should maintain a strong squeeze on the tennis ball to increase rotator cuff activation, and apply pressure into the wall to create a unique iso-dynamic stress to the supporting musculature. We will place this in a tri or quad set just prior to an upper body pressing exercise, such as bench press or db overhead press....
I like this variation of RFES because it does not allow for much contribution from the rear leg. Therefore it places more load on the front leg and hip....
The 90/90 Hip Controlled Articulation is a mobility drill inspired by the Functional Range Conditioning program. This mobility exercise is designed to move through and control rotational movement about the hip, while developing dynamic strength at end range. The goal here is to remain as tall as possible with limited upper body movement (compensation) while moving through internal and external rotation of the hip. At the same time, the athlete is providing some downward pressure with the back heel into the slider, creating a unique iso-dynamic stress to the supporting musculature. We will place this in a tri or quad set with our primary lower body exercise, such as a RFE split squat....
This video shows some core training progressions that I have used with the NTDP players this spring....
This is a more demanding body saw variation using a stability ball....
I like this variation of contra-lateral pressing....
RFEs and Clean velocity assessment....
Cal talks through several cases where athletes improve after using RPR breathing resets....
In these videos, Cal walks us through several case studies of athletes who benefitted from quad resets using RPR....
To perform this one leg squat variation simply cross behind with the non squatting leg....
